Mission Statement
Judy A. Augenstein -
Legislative Consultant
I started
my legislative consulting business in 1978. I have represented a diversity of
interests. I specialize in government relations, public affairs and issue
based grassroots advocacy. My business plan has been to represent select
clients in order to provide a comprehensive and professional service.
It is important to avoid any appearance of conflict among clients and or
client legislative goals.
I provide a variety of services in order to meet the needs of clients.
Scope of Professional Representation...
The competition to get a group's
position known, and to gain understanding and support for that
position, becomes more demanding every day in Lansing, especially since term
limits. New legislators, shifts
in basic goals of the Legislature, and major changes in approaches to
solving public policy problems are key factors that require an
experienced, professional service.
Components Include:
Credibility: One of the most important factors provided to a client is
credibility. Credibility can only be earned and is key in getting a
client's issues considered and supported.
Access: The ability to have immediate and direct access to communicate with legislators and governmental leaders is imperative.
Fact
Finding: Establishing the basic facts and opinions that surround a legislative issue is a critical first step. Knowing where to go, who to ask, what to ask, and making a professional analysis of the information gathered brings an issue into focus and permits development of a sound public policy position and plan of action for a client.
Monitoring: Once the basic facts and opinions have been pulled together into a position, and a plan of action established, a daily monitoring service is needed to keep the client informed.
Lobbying: Implementing a client's plan of action through direct contact with elected and appointed officials to gain understanding and support is an essential.
